ABSTRACT: This study explores the role of cultural sensitivity in vocational education settings, emphasizing the importance of respecting and integrating diverse cultural perspectives into educational practices and student interactions. Cultural sensitivity is essential in promoting inclusive learning environments and preparing students for globalized workforces that value diversity and intercultural competence. The objectives were to (1) examine the impact of cultural sensitivity on student engagement, retention, and academic success in vocational education, (2) identify challenges and best practices in fostering cultural sensitivity among educators and students, and (3) propose strategies to enhance cultural competence in vocational education settings. A survey research design was selected to gather data from vocational educators, students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and community leaders, exploring their experiences and perceptions of cultural sensitivity in educational settings. The sample size included 150 participants, selected through purposive sampling to represent diverse cultural groups and vocational institutions across Nigeria. The case study focused on Kaduna State, recognized for its multicultural demographics and initiatives promoting cultural awareness in education. Findings highlighted that cultural sensitivity positively influenced student learning outcomes, interpersonal skills, and cross-cultural understanding among educators and peers. Effective practices included cultural competency training for educators, multicultural curriculum integration, and community engagement activities celebrating cultural diversity. Recommendations included institutional policies promoting cultural sensitivity, inclusive teaching practices that accommodate diverse learning styles, and ongoing professional development on cultural competence for vocational educators.
